Allow me to bring our 4F4 effort before you as a prayer request. For many years now, it has been mentioned to me here and there that I should consider writing a book. My initial reaction has commonly been one of general discomfort. I have appreciated the encouragement, but long thought we have enough on the bookstore shelves, right? I would often turn to prayer on the issue as an avenue of release to God in acknowledgement of His sovereignty in all things. That prayer has been continued now for quite some time, even years. And now, with continued prompting by the Holy Spirit, I am ready to take action.
The TD Board has affirmed me in this and have asked me to put this request out to our partners. So here it is. I need time alone. This will allow me to focus on writing without taking dates to speak. This means instead of speaking engagements, isolation with the LORD and a computer. I have cleared my calendar in April and will move forward if we receive sufficient funding (or pledges) by the end of March. The TD Board is asking for $4,000 of funding over and above regular gifts for the month of April.
My time would be spent writing a manuscript based on a message I've given many times and which you're likely quite familiar,"You'll Do Anything for the One You Love the Most." This content is based on Scripture in Luke 14:25-33, which contains powerful words of Christ to the masses a few months before His passion. I've been challenged by many and I'm asking for your help to accomplish this task. So pray and we'll all see what God does. I know He doesn't need a book from Chuck, but maybe in the mystery of it all He may allow it to play a part in His Kingdom-building mission. His plans are perfect.
